About Me
Kell is an Illustration/Art History major in college, works full time, and makes costumes and draws pictures in her free time. It's really weird writing this in third person, so I'm going to stop. I love playing video games, photography, bike-riding, dogs, college basketball, summer, coca-cola, Star Wars, velvet, MST3K, comic books, and Dragoncon. I dislike skirts, winter, Nashville traffic, school, spiders, running out of thread and not realising it until I thought I was done, and Dr. Pepper. Chase & I were married April 26, 2008. I am a member of both the Rebel Legion and we are both members of the 501st (MidSouth Garrison). I can be found at Cosplay.com, Cosplaylab.com, ACParadise, the Rebel Legion, and Myspace.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do you make your own costumes?
Yes, if I bought a piece, or someone made a piece for me, I will say that in the info for each costume.
Can I commission you for a costume?
No, I do not work on commission. Chase will take prop/accessory commissions - contact him at the email address listed above. I recommend Traci for costume commissions.
Can I buy one of your costumes?
No. I do not sell my costumes, nor rent them. On the rare occasion I do sell one, it will be listed on ebay and a link placed on the main page of this site.
You must have a lot of time on your hands!/How do you find time to make so many costumes?
I like to keep busy, but I don't spend every free moment of the day working on costumes. It is my hobby, but not my only hobby. I can't really answer the second question; I suppose it's partially because I've been doing this for 8 years, so I have a lot of costumes, and partially because I tend to work fast? I don't know.
What is your AIM/MSN address? Can we chat?
I do not have a chat program, sorry.
What's the story with the name of this site?
My personal site/blog is named "A Day at the Races," so I decided to name my costume site "A Night at the Opera" - I'm a big fan of the Marx Brothers.
Chase & Kell's Engagement Party cake
A good friend of ours, Starla (her cake-making business is called Sugarbabies, based in Nashville, give her a shout if you need an amazing cake!), made us this absolutely incredible cake for our engagement party for MidSouthCon 2008 - it was made to look like a scrapbook, showing off our history and costumes! It's absolutely amazing! (and it was delicious!) I'm so grateful to her for this incredible cake!
