Imperial Officer - Star Wars
I got two things out of doing this costume: I finally got to have an Imperial Officer costume, which I'd wanted for a while, and I also got to join the 501st, finally!

Construction Notes: I used the Simplicity Civil War pattern like a lot of people do, although it wasn't easy, because even cut at the smallest size it was too big and had to be taken up even more. I altered it to change the front flap of the jacket, and I made new sleeves and a new collar. The front velcroes closed. I made the pants from a different pattern, and I cut them off below the knee.

I've got two pairs of boots - the heeled ones, which I bought on ebay, and the flat ones (the accurate ones) which I bought online for my Quistis costume several years ago. I don't like wearing the accurate ones, because I can't move my ankles very well in them, and they take up a lot more room in a suitcase than the heeled ones. Anyway, my first rank badge I made out of metal and wooden pieces - my second one was made by Tambo and it's so nice. My belt I made out of black vinyl, and the buckle was made of metal with a greeblie I bought from ElvisTrooper in the center. My first hat I made by buying a similar hat and covering it in fabric, but it looked horrible! I was so embarrassed by it the first year I wore it at Dragoncon! Haha. So I bought a new one from Kathy of the Midwest Garrison, and it's so great, I love it.
