Construction Notes: Let's get the easy stuff out of the way. I had the pants and shoes already. The cloak I made using a pattern, shortening the sleeves and adding the hood. Red cotton with yellow lining. I got the patch on ebay. The leather for the closure I got at Hobby Lobby. The arm and leg guards I made last minute out of vinyl and batting - they velcro on. I always wanted to remake them but still haven't - maybe one day. The broom I bought at Alivan's. And the sweater. Well, I knew I couldn't knit it, and at the time no one online offered one. I put a notice up at the fabric store looking for someone who could knit it for me. I found all the yarn I needed (ones suggested as being good for a sweater by the folks at the yarn store). Well a nice lady answered my advertisement, and said she could do it for me. We met up, gave her my yarn, she took measurements, and off she went. This was in about March or so. After months of waiting (I had wanted it for A-Kon, then AX, then Dragoncon...) I was getting impatient. At the end of September I told her I HAD to have it before Halloween. This time it got done, I got it from her, paid her, and finally had my sweater... half a year after I originally wanted it. It's not bad but I'd love to have one of the nice ones they sell online now. Mine is too small - the sleeves are only 3/4 because she ran out of red, and the yarn store didn't have anymore. Maybe when I remake my arm and leg guards, I'll get a new sweater....
