| The Scarlet Witch - Avengers/Marvel Universe
I had four or five superheros I wanted to make; I let Chase pick which one I'd do first, and he picked Scarlet Witch :) |
| Construction Notes:
I'm glad Chase picked this one first - this was the easiest and quickest one of the ones I'd picked out, so it made it perfect to put together before our wedding, for MidSouthCon.
Most of this was bought - I bought a white bodysuit online, and dyed it pink. It looks pretty washed out in pics, though, so I think I will dye it a little darker for next time. The shorts and gloves (a lucky find!) I bought online also, and dyed them to match a bit better.
The corset was a bit of an adventure, though - I bought one on ebay, and was very excited about it - unfortunately it arrived and it had a much deeper red tone than I thought - it looked brown next to my other reds. I didn't want to ruin a nice corset - so I made a casing out of my spandex - dyed to match everything else - and sewed it around the existing corset. Not the most ideal way, but at least it matched, and it's completely removeable. :)
The cape I made out of matte satin, it attaches via hook-and-eye at the neck. Chase made my headpiece - it attaches by a headband underneath my wig. My boots I bought online, cut the tops off, and covered them in my spandex. I added the "cuffs" at the top because they were wanting to roll after I added the boot covers.
So - just an easy quick costume - we both want to fix a few little things, but it was fun to wear.
